A new addition to the McCorry clan

While I was in Wisconsin with other relatives attending the memorial service for Uncle Carroll Schield, another member of the McCorry extended family arrived and I wasn’t able to get to post this until now.

On January 23, Katie Jonas gave birth to little Geneva Lynn Arroyo, who checked in at 6 pounds, 12 ounces and 20 inches in length, says her mom. The baby’s father is Alex Arroyo, whose parents visited the hospital soon after she was born.

Geneva is the great-granddaughter of Aunt Teresa Jonas and the grandchild of our cousin Jim Jonas, who’s Katie’s father, just so you can keep all the branches on the family tree straight.

Among those also welcoming the new baby is our cousin Anna Borden (Jonas), one of Jim’s younger sisters.

Katie has apparently delved into her new role as a Mom immediately and with good humor. On her Facebook page is the image of a baby with the caption, "If I refuse to nap ... is that resisting a rest?"

Congratulations to Katie and Alex and welcome to the world and your big family, Geneva Lynn!
