Erin graduates from high school
Erin Freer (left, with parents Tricia and Ken) graduates from high school June 9. She starts her first semester at Simpson University, a Christian college in Redding, California, in the fall. She's pictured here at her "graduation" June 3 from the church she attended in Brentwood. Erin took an interesting route to Simpson University. In March, she participated in a three-day orientation for prospective students. They got to see what classes were like, lived in the dorms and ate in the dining hall. The school played a version of the TV game show "Deal or No Deal" for the students. When Erin played, she had the choice to take a $14,000 prize but turned it down for the chance to win something bigger. She ended up winning an $18,600 scholarship for one year's tuition! When Tricia heard the news she said, "Like any good mother, I cried." Uncle Robert Mullins said, "I guess I'm going to have to start watching 'Deal or No Deal!'" Tricia and Erin are going on a school trip to England this summer. Wish them all well!
