Gavin McCorry's Wedding

My Aunt Mary Ann McCorry sent this letter telling of her grandson Gavin McCorry's wedding in July in Virginia. The bride is Laura. Gavin's parents are Danny and Robin McCorry. Thanks to Brian McCorry for providing links to Web sites where these and other photos are posted:

Hello All. I do want you all to know about Gavin and Laura's beautiful wedding. The main theme, all weekend was the whole atmosphere of true, real love!!! Danny and Robin made everyone feel so welcome. Laura and Gavin McCorry

Colleen and I had a [hotel] room that was handicap accessible, reserved for us. Friday we all met at Danny and Robin's home. The day was busy with everyone helping to set up the rehearsal dinner party at the swim club across the street. Robin decorated the place to look like a French Bistro. While some were helping with that set-up, others were helping to fix the meal. Robin had made the cheese cakes and chicken salad. She also arranged all the decorations.
At the rehearsal dinner we met Laura's family. We were all together at last. Laura was radiant. She is a lovely young lady. Gavin was smiling all night. What a charming couple.
Saturday we met at the church. After everyone was seated, the bridesmaids marched down in their charming magenta dresses. Then Laura entered, accompanied by her father. She was always beautiful, but at that moment, she was GORGEOUS! Her dress was simple and ELEGANT. The ceremony was concelebrated by a Minister from the church, and a Priest. The music was lovely, and Laura's brother had composed a piano piece, "Ode to Laura", that was lovely. I sat back of Danny and Robin, and Robin and I went through a lot of Kleenex.
From church we all went to the reception. Laura and Gavin spent a lot of time mingling with all the guests as did Robin and Danny. There was dancing, and what fun to see those young people doing the fun dances. I want you to know, I danced, too. I did! I was in a wheel chair, of course, and Danny came to our table and asked me to dance. He wheeled me out onto the dance floor, and wheeled and turned me, and it was delightful. Robin helped him, too. It was quite a threesome.

After the reception, we went back to the hotel to change into comfortable clothes, then, back to Danny and Robin's home. We always have such fun. My four wonderful children had a chance to go out on the patio and have a good chit chat.

It was a perfect time. Everyone, and I mean everyone, said, "Robin is a MIRACLE WORKER.” How true. No one knows how she could do so much. She did, though. I'll bet that when she sends all her relatives home this week, as much as she enjoyed the, she will, indeed collapse!!! It was a fabulous time.
Perfect time!!! Love, Mary Ann McCorry

Pretty funny Robert.. maybe I did miss my calling. It is so great to feel connected with this family at the close of each year. I like the way Sarah put it this summer..... that even though she does not know us personally she feels a bond with all the women in the family because of the McCorry blood that runs through us all (well, something like that anyway... she said it much more eloquently). I know what she meant. I had the same feelings this May at the party for Sister B. Hope 2009 is a good year for all of you, especially those seeking employment. I forgive you and your dogs for voting for Obama.....
