Casey Mullins Turns 21
Members of the Mullins Family gathered in Milwaukee last
week to celebrate the 21st birthday of our nephew Casey George
Mullins and had a great reunion with each other and several Jonas relatives.

Casey turned 21 on January 13th and we celebrated
the event at O'Donoghue's Irish Pub in
Elm Grove. When Casey was born in 1995, a longtime friend of Casey’s
parents--John “Moon” and Linda Mullins--J. Omar Andritch, presented them with a
bottle of Jameson’s Irish Whisky, with a special label on it, to be opened by
Casey on his 21st birthday. Which we did.

After
dinner, the party moved to Major Goolsby’s, a sports bar in downtown Milwaukee
with a storied history to the Mullins family.
Moon was a bar manager there and that’s where he met his future wife,
Linda Dwyer. Casey works there now while he’s earning a degree in engineering
at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Bill,
Tricia, her daughter Erin, Erin’s boyfriend, Mike Ewing, and I flew from
California to Milwaukee for the event – in friggin’ January, mind you—while
Kathy traveled from La Crosse.

The
next day, we gathered again at Café Lulu’s in Bay View (co-owned by Sarah
Jonas) for lunch with her mom, our Aunt Teresa, as well as Tom and Jim Jonas. I
flew back to California on Friday but others stayed longer to, among other
things, watch the Packers-Cardinals playoff game at Tonic Tavern, owned by our
cousin Paul Jonas in Bay View. (The bar was more enjoyable than the outcome of
the game.)

As always, such family reunions are a great opportunity to stay in touch and enjoy time with the McCorry relatives. Have a
great 2016 everyone.
