George Mullins Discovered in Video from 1960

Many of you certainly noticed the coverage of the Wisconsin Primary the last  few weeks all over the news. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel took the opportunity to recall movies based on political races. One was "Primary," a documentary about the Wisconsin Primary of 1960, which focused on the race between Sens. John F. Kennedy and Hubert Humphrey on the Democratic side. The film is available on Netflix. I ordered it and when I played it on my DVR I saw something amazing which you can see on this link to my Facebook page.
In this scene, Sen. Kennedy is walking through the crowd at a rally on the South Side of Milwaukee. About 10 seconds into the clip, you see a tall man in a suit wearing horn-rimmed glasses to Kennedy's left. That's our dad, George Mullins! I had to rewind and play it again about 10 times to be sure. It was confirmed for me when my brother Joe pointed out that a couple on Kennedy's right opposite Dad were Vince and Patty Andera, longtime family friends of ours.
Of course, we were big Kennedy supporters, given that we're both Irish-Catholic families of nine children. We even have the same boy-girl distribution of five girls and four boys.
I wanted to share this with those of you who aren't on Facebook.
Hope you're all having a great year and encourage you to share news of your families with the rest of the family on the blog.

Sincerely,
Robert Mullins
