Jason Jonas

I have sad news to report today that Jason Jonas, 36, the son of Jim Jonas, died Tuesday. Jim said in an e-mail that death was due to an accidental overdose of drugs and alcohol. There is an obituary and details about a service planned for this coming Saturday in Milwaukee, and also a place to post condolence messages, on the Web site of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Jason was the oldest of three children Jim had with his late wife, Marcia. Please remember Jim, Jason's siblings Katie and James, and all the Jonases in your prayers as they deal with their grief at this time.

Rendezvous Bistro reviewed

My cousin Pat Werth sent me a link to this article in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reviewing the new restaurant in Santa Rosa, Rendezvous Bistro. It's co-owned by Pat's son-in-law Nino Rabbaa and her son Justin Werth. As the article points out, Pat's daughter Megan, Nino's wife, also helps out where needed at the restaurant. The description of the dishes in the article makes you just want to head right up there! Here's a nice photo of the exterior, from the Press Democrat.

Nino, Justin and Megan join a long list of McCorrys in the restaurant business, including Sarah Jonas who runs two restaurants in the Milwaukee area, David and Rebecca Schield's daughter, Jessica, who manages an Italian restaurant in Denver, and my brother Joe Mullins, who keeps the customers satisfied at Robert's, a bar/restaurant on the south side of Milwaukee that serves delicious Friday Fish Fries!

Update on Sr. Benedicta's health

Hello All. It's been a while since my last post. Sr. Aquinice called to ask me to share with all of you an update on Sr. Benedicta's situation. She was moved last weekend to a care facility that can take better care of her than they can at the convent.
Sr. B returned to the convent last December after her stroke in September, but, because of the resultant brain injury, she has been wandering around the convent and the care facility is designed to prevent residents from wandering outside. Sr. A says Sr. B can understand what you are saying to her in conversation but has difficulty responding to you.
The only TV programs Sr. B can follow are newscasts, which means she's up to speed on Rod Blagojevich's indictment and the scandal over Michelle Obama embracing Queen Elizabeth in London!
Sr. A wanted me to share with all of you the address of the care facility at which Sr. B is now residing. An Easter Card was suggested:

Arden Courts
7880 W. College Dr.
Palos Heights, IL 60463-1010

Sr. A says Tom Jonas brought his mother, Teresa, down to Chicago to see the nuns last Saturday, which was the day Sr. B was moved to Arden Courts.
The last time most of us saw Sr. B was at her 90th birthday lasy May in Milwaukee.
I hope you are all well. Tricia, Kathy and I celebrated St. Patrick's Day in an unusual way (and no, I don't mean we drank Bushmill's instead of Jameson's) by driving to Modesto, Calif., to see a performance of the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, which was coming to the end of its U.S. tour. It was great!
Feel free to click on the "Comments" link to update us all on what you're up to.
Best to all.
Robert
