Sr. Acquinice Last Rites

To All:

Our cousin, Jane Jonas Williams, and other Jonases, have informed me that Sr. Mary Acquinice, our Aunt Rita, has been anointed with the last rites at the Mercy Circle facility in Chicago. Jane asked me to share this with you via the McCorry USA Family Blog. I am also going to share it with cousins I consider active users with whom I communicate on Facebook. Those of you who receive this message are invited/encouraged to share this with other friends and relatives who you think should be informed about this situation.

Here's the message Jane has shared with her family and asked me to share with you:

[Sr. Mary Acquinice] has been anointed with the last rites of the Catholic Church and she was relieved to enter hospice though she is not near death imminently. She will be 94 on her next birthday.

She has had several strokes and consequently does not speak much and cannot swallow well. Thus she is on a liquid diet and now weighs 129 pounds. Some days she can communicate and make herself understood. She does get angry and frustrated. 

She DOES NOT want any visitors. It was explained that those who have watched her decline have adjusted to her physicality but it may be shocking to family and friends.
