Betty gets her book published

Hi all.
My sister Betty Mullins self-published a novel she wrote based on our parents growing up in Milwaukee during World War II. “Don’t Let Down” tells the story of Mary Malloy who edits a parish newsletter that is shared with parishoners and service members alike, which is what my mom did during the war. She meets and eventually marries George Sweeney, a returning soldier, a character patterned after our dad. The novel includes many other characters reminiscent of the people mom and dad grew up with at St. Matthew’s Parish in Milwaukee.
“Don’t let down” is an expression meaning don’t give up hope.
The book is available for purchase at Authorhouse.com, a Web site for self-published authors. It’s available in hardcover or paperback. Betty said it will be available at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com, though not for another month or so. It may also be available as an e-book, which means you could read it on a Kindle, Nook, iPad or other portable device, but I’ll let you know more about that when I get the details.
Tricia and I were among a few people who read an advanced copy of it several months ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.
It’s that time of year again when I begin gathering information for the McCorry Cousins’ annual Christmas letter. I’ve taken the liberty of saving photos from some cousins’ Facebook pages of Pat Werth with her new grandchild and Jane Williams and Jim Jonas with the nuns and their mom Teresa Jonas. Be sure to e-mail me at mullico@gmail.com with news about your families from 2011 and also please update me with new contact information if you’ve changed your home address, e-mail address or phone number in the last year. And just so we’re clear on this, I don’t put any of that contact information on this blog.
Happy Thanksgiving Day to everyone!
Robert Mullins
