Updates on Srs. A & B, David Schield

-->

Sr. Mary Aquinice asked me to share with you that she has a new address and that Sr. Benedicta will be joining her there soon.
Sr. Acquinice’s new address is:

Mercy Circle
3659 W. 99th Street, #2202
Chicago, IL 60655

The address is the same as before with one important addition, the apartment number, #2202. That will ensure that your mail will get to her directly.
In fact, Aunt Rita suggests that you make sure it’s correct by sending her a card or letter!
Sr. Benedicta, Aunt Eleanor is going to move into another unit at the same address, but in a skilled care facility, how the facility hasn’t obtained its certification yet. I’ll let you know when word of that comes.

Also, for those of you not avid readers of Facebook, David Schield posted recently he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He said he was the third member of his family to face this diagnosis preceded by Jim and Joe, both of them caught early with no long-term issues so far.

David is scheduled to have surgery April 11 to have his prostate removed, he said.
Because of the early diagnosis and treatment, the cancer is contained to only the prostate and has not affected or impacted anything else, so there will be no need for further treatment, chemo, or radiation. I am fortunate,” he wrote.
David is taking the opportunity to promote prostate cancer education, as it is something to pay attention to for males over 50 and especially those with a family history of prostate cancer.
Myself, who’s close in age to David, has health insurance again under the Affordable Care Act after more than two years without it and will be sure to get tested for it.
“Please talk to you doctor and get a PSA test,” he wrote. “It's a simple blood test and while not fool-proof, they can be helpful directionally, if there is an issue. Prostate cancer is generally not life-threatening when caught and treated. If left untreated, consequences can be more severe, so it's worth the effort.”
Best of luck to all of you. Have a great spring and summer.
